Boat hauler opens new facility

CARTHAGE, Mo. – Carthage Marine Transport, a company that hauls boats to and from all 48 continental U.S. states and Canada, has opened a new facility near Carthage, Mo., the Carthage Press reported yesterday in a story on its Web site.

CMT transports boats both commercially and privately. The company’s largest client is Cobalt.

Brooks Gubser – owner of CMT, along with his son Travis, who is the manager – started hauling single boats several years ago and have now grown their operation to what they hope will be a $3 million business this year.

Brooks Gubser said the new facility will allow the business to continue to expand.

“We offer premium service and take care of their boats,” Brooks Gubser said. “A manufacturer wants that. They’re not interested in hiring the cheapest person.”
