Scout Boats helps dealers become certified

CHICAGO – To encourage its dealers to become industry certified, Summerville, S.C.-based Scout Boats Inc. will allow dealers to use Scout Co-Op funds to cover up to 100 percent of the costs associated with becoming certified under the Grow Boating Initiative’s Marine Industry Dealership Certification Program, Grow Boating said in a press release yesterday.

Scout has also agreed to credit its dealers’ Co-Op accounts $500 upon completion of the program.

Thus far, four Scout dealers have already been certified under the certification program: Vero Marine Center, Vero Beach, Fla.; Cannons Marina, Longboat Key, Fla.; Drummond Marine Boat Sales, Holland, Mich.; and Lockwood Marine, Townsend, Ga.

“We want to help our dealers in every way we can so they may obtain certification under the Grow Boating Initiative’s Marine Industry Dealership Certification Program,” said Dave Wallace, Scout vice president of operations. “Scout has always maintained a strong and reputable dealer network, and we feel this program will not only help our dealers grow their respective businesses, but also instill confidence in the marine industry consumer.”
