Seawide Marine reports strong 1Q sales

MURRIETA, Calif. – First-quarter sales for Seawide Marine Distribution, a supplier of electronics and electrical supplies, grew 58 percent in fiscal 2006 compared to the first quarter of the 2005 fiscal year, the company said in a release yesterday.

Seawide – which attributed the growth to a strong demand for electronics, an expanded sales force and new market penetration – said the robust sales continue a trend from fiscal year 2005, when sales outpaced the previous year by 34 percent.

“Our push into new territories and an aggressive goal to expand our product lines have both resulted in fantastic sales growth over the past fifteen months,” said national sales manager Jeff McLaren. “These quarterly figures show we are again on track for a very, very prosperous year.”

Seawide Marine Distribution, established in 1975 as a family owned marine electronics wholesaler, has grown into one of the country’s largest wholesale suppliers of Raymarine, Furuno and Garmin products. The company has a distribution center in Murrieta, Calif. and sales offices in Seattle and Costa Mesa, Calif.
