Cable manufacturer acquires TechMarine

BOLIVAR, Ohio – Cable Manufacturing & Assembly Co., Inc. purchased the assets of Harvard, Mass.-based TechMarine, along with the rights to manufacture under the TechMarine brand name, in August, the company reported in a recent statement.

TechMarine manufactures a line of electronic shift and throttle controls for the marine industry. CMA manufactures a line of shift/throttle control cables under the Performax brand name.

Stephen Into, inventor of the TechMarine product line, has agreed to join CMA in a product development capacity. He pointed out that CMA has “the resources to take TechMarine to a new level.”

“We believe the addition of the TechMarine product line is a natural progression in our growth strategy for the marine industry,” said Bill Hackett, CMA president.

Bob Clegg, CEO of CMA, believes the TechMarine brand name is one of its most valuable assets.

“TechMarine has been known in the marine industry for quality and innovative products. We will continue to build upon these attributes and having Stephen on board will insure that we continue to bring new products to market.” Clegg said.
