NMEA seeks nominations for Tech of the Year

SEVERNA PARK, Md. – Nominations are now being accepted for the 12th annual National Marine Electronics Association Technician of the Year Award, NMEA said in a recent release.

Nomination forms were made available Aug. 15 from the NMEA national office and are due no later than Sept. 15. Once received, nominations are distributed for voting by NMEA’s board of directors and the Standards Committee.

The awards will be presented Oct. 15, at the banquet and awards ceremony of NMEA Convention at The Registry Resort & Club in Naples, Fla.

Since 1994, the NMEA board of directors has honored an NMEA marine electronic technician for outstanding service in the field. Over the last 12 years this award has become one of the most coveted and prestigious in the marine electronics industry. Last year’s recipient was Darrell Hawkins, president of Electronics Unlimited.
