Charles Marine sales jump 36 percent

CHICAGO – Marine electrical products manufacturer Charles Marine, experienced a 36 percent increase in sales for 2004, the company reported in a recent release.

“Increased sales were gained across all market sectors with the introduction of new products including SP battery chargers and the C-PowerMaster onboard AC power management system,” said Lyle St. Romain, general manager of Charles Marine & Industrial Group. “Both new products and continued branding of existing products grew sales with aftermarket customers, including national retailers Boaters World and West Marine.”

The company said sales to the government, military and industrial markets increased in 2004. Charles Marine’s strategy for continued growth in 2005 will focus on promotion of the AC product line including isolation transformers and automatic switch gear, providing AC power management solutions for OEMs including international yacht builders.

During the Charles Marine national sales meeting earlier this month, results of the 2004 customer satisfaction survey reported an 8 percent increase in customer satisfaction.

Each year the company surveys its customer base to track customer satisfaction in the areas of inside and outside sales staff, products, services and delivery.

“We pride ourselves on delivering products and services that meet our customers’ needs as well as providing excellent technical and sales support both internally and in the field,” said Michele Goldsmith, national sales manager. “Our dedicated and growing sales team is a large reason for our continued success in overall customer satisfaction.”
