World Publications wins BWI awards
WINTER PARK, Fla. – The editors of Sport Fishing and Cruising World magazines won the top prize in their respective categories in the Boating Writers International annual writing contest.
Sport Fishing editor in chief Doug Olander took first place in the “Best Fishing Article” category, while Cruising World editor Herb McCormick placed first in the “Boating Profile” category.
In all, World Publications titles won 14 awards, including 10 for Cruising World, three for Boating Life and one for Sport Fishing.
“The BWI writing contest gets tougher and more competitive each year, which is a credit to our entire field,” McCormick said. “So I’m especially pleased and honored that Cruising World was recognized in eight separate categories. It says a lot about the breadth and caliber of our contributors and our entire editorial team.”
