New teak installing and servicing company formed
MIAMI – Canada’s Teak Marine Products Inc., and Florida’s Port Royal Group Inc., have formed Teak Marine Products USA LLC, a new company that will be the exclusive U.S. installing and servicing distributor for the Teak Marine line of pre-fabricated teak decking, interior flooring and other marine wood products, the companies said recently.
“We are ready to reach out to service the larger U.S. East and Gulf Coast markets, of which South Florida is a focal point, said Paul Tufts, president of Teak Marine Products Inc. “But in order to do so effectively, we believe it necessary to provide locally-based sales, installation, and back-up service. Our new joint venture company Teak Marine Products USA does precisely that.”
Phil Friedman, president of Port Royal Group Inc., will serve as managing director of the new company.
“We already count among our clients some of the most prominent new build and refit yards in North America,” Friedman said. “Moreover, we can deliver and install within 6 to 10 weeks, start to finish, which is significantly less than the 16 to 20 weeks common in the industry today.”
