Brunswick donates $150K to Grow Boating fund

CHICAGO – With a few weeks left to raise the $2 million needed to cover the costs of the Grow Boating Start Up Fund, Brunswick Corp., parent of the Brunswick Boat Group and Mercury Marine engines, has made a $150,000 contribution, the company reported in a recent statement. This is above and beyond the support it has already provided through its NMMA special assessment.

“As the industry leader, we at Brunswick are solidly behind the Grow Boating Initiative, not only because it will raise boating’s profile, but because it is more than a marketing campaign,” said Brunswick Chairman and Chief Executive Officer George W. Buckley. “It is a wide-ranging, integrated plan to make boating more appealing and satisfying. It is a natural complement to our efforts at Brunswick, which is to do what’s right for the consumer, our dealers and our boat builder partners by making a more reliable and better quality product that will deliver on all that boating promises.”

The Grow Boating marketing campaign will be unveiled at the Grow Boating All-Industry Meeting, being held Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in rooms A-201 to A-204 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, one day before the opening of the Miami International Boat Show. In addition to the launch of the campaign, NMMA has also invited leaders from all industry segments to the meeting to present how their industry segment will contribute cash for the ongoing Grow Boating Funding.
