What I see as the most important challenge facing the marine industry is customer satisfaction – and not just customer satisfaction with our products, but with the dealers, with the buying experience, and ultimately, with the boating experience.
In order for the marine industry to succeed in convincing people to spend their recreational dollars on boats, motors and accessories we have to manufacture and sell products that deliver an “exceeds customer expectation” experience. If the people that have boats have a better time, experience fewer hassles and look forward to getting out on the water the “next time,” then those people the industry is looking to attract will see, and hear about, the great time boaters are having and want to get in on the action. And ultimately, that’s what it’s all about.
