Three Maretron products receive NMEA 2000 Certification

SEVERNA PARK, Md. – The National Marine Electronics Association said three new Maretron products are now NMEA 2000 Certified, in a release today.

NMEA 2000 newly certified equipment from Maretron, a designer, manufacturer and marketer of marine electronic instrumentation for recreational and commercial boating, include the USB100, the SSC200 and the DSM200.

“These additional three products being certified to NMEA 2000 demonstrates Maretron’s commitment to this exciting new technology,” said Beth Kahr, NMEA’s president. “NMEA 2000 is an open, universal network standard that all manufacturers can participate on.”

The NMEA 2000 interface standard contains the requirements of a serial data communications network to inter-connect marine electronic equipment on vessels. It is multi-master and self configuring, and there is no central network controller. Equipment designed to this standard has the ability to share data, including commands and status with other compatible equipment over a single channel.

These Maretron products join a variety of other manufacturers that also have NMEA 2000 certified products, including Airmar, Faria, Kvaser, Raymarine, Simrad, and Teleflex.
