Stingray donates $25,000 to Grow Boating
CHICAGO – Stingray has become the latest boat manufacturer to show its support for the Grow Boating Initiative by donating $25,000 to the GBI Start-Up Fund, the National Marine Manufacturers Association reported in a news release this morning.
“We feel that the Grow Boating Initiative is paramount to the future success of our Industry,” said Stingray president Al Fink. “It is a ‘grass roots’ campaign that provides one central voice to promote our collective ‘lifestyle’ message to the benefit of all manufacturers, dealers and vendors. Following Stingray’s 25th Anniversary celebration, and coupled with Grow Boating’s emphasis on increasing boating awareness, improving product quality, promoting OEM/Builder certification programs and mass marketing initiatives, we felt it was a means of giving back to the Industry in a truly, meaningful way.”
Stingray’s contribution will go toward the $2 million fund that will help pay for the creative development and production of the marketing campaign that will launch in 2005. The marketing campaign will be introduced at an all-industry meeting at the Miami International Boat Show Feb. 16.
“Leadership contributions at this level are important and appreciated,” said NMMA president Thom Dammrich. “We recognize that most of the companies in NMMA and the industry are very small (sales less than $10 million) and we need small contributions from the thousands of small and medium size businesses in our industry to reach our goal. All contributions of any size are appreciated and will be recognized.”
The list of contributors to the GBI Start Up Fund is updated daily on www.growboating.org. For information on contributing to the Grow Boating fund, or to contribute online, visit the Grow Boating Web site at www.growboating.org.
