FLIBS telecast reaches 5.7 million viewers

NORFOLK, Va. – Rhodes Communications said today that the national co-op satellite media tour from the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show aired on more than 237 television stations with a total audience of over 5.7 million viewers.

The telecast was hosted by Alan Jones, executive editor of Boating World magazine, who presented some of the boats and accessories from the boat show.

The tour featured Genmar’s Carver and Triumph brands, Evinrude’s E-Tec V6 line of engines, the STX-15F from Kawasaki and Boating World’s test drive opportunity for new boaters.

Rhodes Communications President Jim Rhodes said planning is already underway for the satellite media tour from the Miami International Boat Show starring Dick DeBartolo. Based on the success of the Fort Lauderdale telecast, Rhodes also expects to repeat the tour again in 2005.

“We expect to fill all of the available slots very quickly,” he said.
