AOC amends January 1 price increase

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – AOC, a global supplier of resins, gelcoats and other additives to the marine industry, will increase prices by $0.10 per pound on all vinyl ester resins sold in the United States and Canada shipped on or after January 1, the company reported in a recent statement.

AOC’s November 30 announcement of $.06/lbs. did not specifically address vinyl ester resin needs, according to the company.

Vinyl ester key ingredients, such as Bisphenol A, MMA, methacrylic acid and epoxy resin have all increased at a pace exceeding that of polyester resin ingredients, and some vinyl ester raw materials are in short supply, AOC reported. Therefore, the company said it is necessary to implement the amended increase.

Rapid cost increases, combined with AOC’s continued commitment to invest in better performing and environmentally friendly products, require that resin prices reflect current market conditions.

AOC said it acknowledges customers and their support for understanding these difficult times.
