ROSSVILLE, Ga. – The APBA Offshore Racing Association has released its 2005 schedule of events under the second year of its “Come Race In Our Water” campaign banner, the APBA said yesterday.
“One of our goals was to have a solid schedule of events by what is known as the fiscal year end for many companies,” said Jim Poplin, president of the APBA Offshore Racing Association. “With that in place, those teams who want to race with us will be able to move forward contacting those companies for sponsorship, and we can begin our year-round marketing plans for each venue to increase the exposure for all of the events and teams on our tour.”
Poplin said the APBA has brought in a few new venues and will also return to a few sites and producers that have been assets in the past.
The 2005 APBA Offshore National Series Tour includes the season opener, April 29 – May 1 in Elizabeth City, N.C.
APBA Offshore will host its own 2005 APBA – UIM World Championships with a return to a former APBA Offshore site in Fort Myers Beach, Fla. from Nov. 2-6, followed by an invitation to join the Super Boat International at its Key West World Championships later in the month.
“All information, including schedules, special APBA Offshore team and fan hotel and travel specials and other details will be online as they occur through the next few months,” said Michelle May – Schmidt, Director of Communications – Media and Sponsorship Marketing for the Association.
