Telaurus selected for 2004 Global Challenge
CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J. – Marine communications provider Telaurus Communications LLC, has been selected as the primary source of communications aboard all 12 yachts in the 2004 Global Challenge Race, the company said in a release today.
In addition, the Telaurus se@COMM system will also be used for management, weather, media, and medical information. The crews will enjoy constant real time voice and data connectivity.
Called the “world’s toughest yacht race” by some, the journey will consist of 10 months of unforgiving weather, rough seas, and tight quarters.
The race begins Oct. 3 in the United Kingdom with the first stop scheduled for Buenos Aires, followed by sites in Australia and the U.S.
