CCP and AOC to raise prices again

KANSAS CITY, Mo., COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – CCP will increase its prices on all gel coat and resin product lines by $.10 per pound, and fellow marine coatings manufacturer and supplier AOC will raise its prices by the same amount on all resins, gel coats, pigments and B-sides sold in the U.S. and Canada, the companies said in separate releases yesterday and today.

The price increases for both companies will begin for all orders shipped on or after Sept. 6.

Paul Colonna, CCP vice president for composites, said the increase is necessary as a direct result of the rise in raw material costs – primarily in styrene, maleic and glycols. The cost increases have been driven by a tightness in global availability, the company reported.

“The hard reality is that – with demand exceeding capacity on many raw materials – the industry is in for a difficult period for the foreseeable future,” Colonna said. “Having said that, should the situation worsen, CCP is uniquely positioned to secure allocated raw materials, thanks to our association with Atofina. We are committed to supplying our customers with the quality products they require.”

AOC said record-high costs for crude oil, natural gas, and their derivatives offer no relief.

“These unprecedented raw material increases and the uncertainty of raw material supply coupled with accelerated consumption have made planning ineffective,” the company said in its release. “Because of these unique events, we are amending contractual relationships looking for relief including negotiating increases and modifying terms and conditions. With the inability to absorb higher costs while continuing to invest in better performing and environmentally friendly products, selling prices must reflect current conditions.
