Media turns out for Discover Boating Tour

CHICAGO – More than 15 media broadcast outlets have covered the Discover Boating and Fishing Tour presented by Water Works Wonders since its May launch, resulting in nearly two million media impressions and $40,000 in media value, the National Marine Manufacturers Association said in a release yesterday.

Discover Boating was to be featured on Chicago’s local NBC affiliate during the 6-7 a.m. news hour on Thursday, Aug. 5. NMMA’s Steve Tadd was scheduled to be interviewed by meteorologist Pete Sack to promote the Boating World Test Drive event taking place at the Fox River Preserve and Marina in Lake Barrington, Ill. Aug. 7-8.

The segment was expected to be approximately 2-3 minutes and include a couple of “bumper” shots before and after commercial breaks. Boating World magazine provided a boat to be displayed outside the studio as part of those shots.
