MasterCraft and BoatU.S. co-sponsor safety survey

VONORE, Tenn. – Boat builder MasterCraft has co-sponsored a boating safety survey at BoatUS.com that it hopes will help raise awareness of the need for safety and as a sign of its support of National Fishing & Boating Week, the company said in a statement yesterday.

MasterCraft and BoatU.S. created the survey to investigate what powerboaters know about boat emissions and how they perceive the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, MasterCraft said.

“MasterCraft recognizes its responsibility to keep the boating community safe,” said Casey Quilter, the company’s Media & Public Relations manager. “We hope the survey heightened awareness during National Fishing & Boating Week and will provide the boating industry with additional data to improve CO risk communication.”

In addition to promoting boating safety, MasterCraft also hosted the company’s annual East Coast reunion last weekend in conjunction with boating week. Over 70 boats and 200 Team MasterCraft members came to ski and ride on Lake Norris, Tennessee.

“This is what boating is all about,” said Team MasterCraft coordinator, Ryan Noble. “Being on the water, having fun with friends and family. Boating week is a great opportunity for all boat owners to show their pride and participate in this great family outdoor activity.”
