Jeanneau hires ocean racer as technical consultant

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Jeanneau Shipyards has joined forces with Philippe Poupon, a sailor and ocean racer, who will become a technical consultant for the company, Jeanneau said in a release today.

Poupon – who in the past has undertaken ocean voyages in a 19-meter sailboat to explore factors concerning the global environment – recently brought valuable insight during sea trials of Jeanneau’s new Sun Odyssey 45 in regards to long-term ocean cruising, the company said.

He will also be contributing to a special column in the Jeanneau owner’s newsletter, and will be giving advice about onboard safety, according to the boat builder.
