MarineMax goes Platinum with ABYC
EDGEWATER, Md. – Recreational boating retailer MarineMax has upgraded its membership with the American Boat & Yacht Council to the platinum level, a corporate upgrade that includes ABYC membership for all MarineMax locations nationwide, ABYC said in a recent release.
“MarineMax has long been a strong supporter of both ABYC and the ABYC Foundation, and our mission to improve boating safety through consensus-based safety standards and standards-based education and training,” said Skip Burdon, ABYC president and CEO. “As a Platinum member, we welcome and appreciate MarineMax’s increased demonstration of that support.”
“Sales and follow-on service of the boats produced by the manufacturers we represent account for a large portion of our business,” said Mike Burlingham, vice president of Service at MarineMax. “Our customers expect high quality and safe products built to industry standards, which is why we look to ABYC, its standards and its standards-based workforce education and training to enhance our program and overall customer satisfaction.”
