KeyBank USA renews sponsorship of charity tournament

CLEVELAND – KeyBank USA has renewed its title sponsorship of the Mercury Redbone @ Large KeyBank USA Lake Erie Classic fishing tournament to raise money and awareness for cystic fibrosis research, KeyBank USA said in a release today.

Kenneth Landon, CEO of Key Recreation Lending and executive vice president of KeyCorp, is serving as tournament chairman.

The 3rd Annual Lake Erie Classic tournament is being held June 17-18 at Catawba Island in northeastern Ohio. Proceeds raised at the event will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help in its efforts to find a cure. The genetic disease affects roughly 30,000 children and adults in the U.S. To date, the entire Redbone series of events have raised more than $3 million to find a cure for cystic fibrosis, according to KeyBank USA.

“This first-class charity fishing tournament is a fun way to get families involved in supporting a valuable organization that is dedicated to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis and to improving the quality and length of life for people with the disease,” said Landon.

KeyBank USA’s Lake Erie Classic is part of the Mercury Redbone @ Large series of CF charity events, which take place in more than 20 locations in the U.S., the Bahamas, Mexico and Costa Rica.
