NMTA offers money for boating programs

SEATTLE – The Northwest Marine Trade Association (NMTA) is seeking application letters from organizations requesting grant money to help fund their boating-related programs or events, according to an NMTA press release today.

The NMTA’s $5,000 grant program was established as part of the association’s Grow Boating program – aimed at increasing recreational boating in the region, NMTA said.

“There are many wonderful programs around the Puget Sound that do a lot for boating,” said Michael Campbell, NMTA president. “We’re hoping we can help grow some of those programs by providing needed support. We also are hoping we can help fund new programs that someone or some organization has not been able to start for lack of funding.”

NMTA said organizations or individuals interested in applying for some or all of the $5,000 funds should submit a letter with the following information:

– A description of the program/event.

– How the program/event is helping or will help grow boating in the Northwest.

– Amount of grant money requested.

Letters must be submitted to the Northwest Marine Trade Association offices or by e-mailing john@nmta.net no later than June 30, according to the association.
