CHICAGO – A new DVD produced by the National Marine Manufacturers Association's (NMMA) Discover Boating program is now available through DiscoverBoating.com and at Discover Boating events around the country, NMMA said in a statement yesterday.
The DVD is an interactive presentation that includes an 11-minute video to help consumers choose the right boat to fit their lifestyle, along with tips for getting started in boating and a complimentary boater's education course produced by BoatSafe.com, accessible using a DVD-ROM, NMMA reported.
"The Discover Sailing video has been very effective in promoting the benefits of sailing," said Discover Boating Director Steve Tadd. "We think this video will help build confidence and empower consumers to make better boat-buying decisions."
More than 6,500 people have already pre-ordered the DVD at DiscoverBoating.com, and the number of videos being distributed is expected to increase dramatically in the coming months as Discover Boating starts to promote the video online, in national boating publications and at Discover Boating events across the country, including the Discover Boating and Fishing Tour presented by Water Works Wonders, which launches May 7 in Baltimore.
NMMA said it is also inviting members, boat manufacturers and dealers to help extend the reach of the video by offering it to customers online. Interested companies can download a banner ad to promote the video to their customers by visiting http://www.discoverboating.com/dvd/promo.asp.
Tadd said the DVD campaign is being used to gather information and track consumer behavior, and that the results will be available to the industry in the coming months.
