CHICAGO – The television show Trading Spaces: Family will air its first nautical episode tomorrow night, featuring a show taped at the Harborage Marina in St. Petersburg, Fla., the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) reported in a press release yesterday.
Trading Spaces contacted NMMA to locate families for the show. The boat owners selected were Captain Calvin Tate & Pat Benavides, owners of a 33- year- old 70 ft. custom houseboat, and Angela & Nick Metro, owners of a 19-year-old 56 Matthews Motoryacht, NMMA said.
The premise of the show is to provide two neighboring families with $1,000 each, a professional designer, a carpenter, and 48 hours to redo a room of their choice. The catch is, they have to switch houses or boats, and they have no say in how their own room will look. After two days work, the spaces are transformed. Then, each team returns to their own home to see what’s become of their room.
The episode, which will first air March 12 at 7 p.m. ET, was taped at the Harborage Marina in St. Petersburg.
