IPY becomes A Major Sponsor Of West Marine Sailing Events
HAMPTON, Va. – Island Packet Yachts of Largo, Fla. will again be a support sponsor of the West Marine fun races to Bermuda and the Caribbean, organized by the Cruising Rally Association, according to a statement released over the weekend.
Additionally, the event, known as the Island Packet Bermuda High, will be combined with the West Marine Bermuda Cup, a race to Bermuda, now in its 12th year, the statement said.
Island Packet Yachts have made up the largest group of boats participating in the Cruising Rally Association’s fun races since their inception in 1990.
“We welcome the active role that Island Packet has chosen to play, as we have long enjoyed the participation of their wonderful group of owners and reliable passagemakers,” said Steve Black, Cruising Rally Association founder. “Their performance has also been outstanding, with an overall win in the last West Marine Atlantic Cup, and both overall and class wins in past Bermuda and Caribbean 1500 events.”
