Ascend Marine chooses Martin Flory Group as its PR firm

GURNEE, Ill. – Ascend Marine has chosen Martin Flory Group to head up its North American public relations program, according to a statement yesterday from Kelly Flory, general manager of the 41-year-old public relations firm.

A member of the National Marine Electronics Association, Ascend Marine designs, engineers and distributes the new Anchor Alert Monitoring System under the brand Deep Blue Marine.

The wireless system consists of a transponder connected directly to an anchor, a thru-hull mounted transducer and an alarm panel with visual display that alerts the user when the anchor moves, according to the statement.

In addition to monitoring anchor movement, Anchor Alert also measures the straight-line distance between boat and anchor. Ascend Marine and its partner Deep Blue Marine will launch additional monitoring products throughout 2004, Flory said.
