Albemarle Boats receives CSI award

CHICAGO, Ill. – The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) has awarded Edenton, N.C.-based Albemarle Boats a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award in the Sterndrive Cuddy Express and Inboard Fishing Express categories, it reported in a statement yesterday.

The CSI Award Program recognizes participating companies that have actively measured customer satisfaction to pursue continuous improvement. Award recipients have achieved and maintained an independently measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past year (July 2002 to June 2003).

NMMA recognized 29 boat and engine manufacturers at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in October. Albemarle Boats should have also been honored, according to NMMA, but CSI director Terry Leitz said that the customer satisfaction information for Albemarle was not included due to erroneousness posting of data that occurred prior to the recent switch to AVALA Marketing, the new vendor for the program.

“We are pleased to recognize Albemarle Boats for their contribution to the process of raising the bar on customer satisfaction in the marine market,” said Leitz. “It is the commitment to customer satisfaction and quality that Albemarle and the other award recipients have made that helps to ensure the future growth of the industry.”
