Charles Marine reports record growth

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. – Charles Marine, an AC and DC electrical products manufacturer, reported its fifth record month in a row in October with year-to-date sales up eight percent over 2005, the company said in a press release Wednesday.

“Our continued commitment to delivering high-quality products manufactured in U.S. plants owned by Charles Industries and dedication to customer and technical support have truly separated us from the crowd,” said Lyle St. Romain, Charles Marine & Industrial Group general manager. “Record growth includes new military and defense contracts as well as additional business from the commercial sector as a result of post-Katrina recovery along the Gulf coast.”

To support the company’s escalating sales and increased market share, Charles Marine has made several additions to the sales staff as well as internal promotions.

Richard Squires of Squires Southern Sales located in Donalsonville, Ga., has been designated manufacturer’s representative covering South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

The team’s second addition is Janson Company in Newport, R.I. The company will be responsible for sales in Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York.

Both groups will report to Jean Mika, who was recently promoted to marine and industrial group national sales manager.

Other internal changes include Ila Barber’s promotion to customer service supervisor and Dave Cazzell’s hiring as plant manager for the company’s Casey, Ill., manufacturing facility. Cazzell replaces Ted Webber, who retired after 23 years of service with Charles Industries.

“I feel confident that with a solid team in place, we are positioned for further growth and acquisition of market share in marine and industrial markets,” St. Romain said.
