Edson sets third-consecutive sales record

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – For the third consecutive month, marine steering system manufacturer Edson International has set an all-time sales record for the best month ever in the company’s 145-year history, the company said in a statement today.

Sales were up 17 percent in June 2004, compared to June 2003. That record month directly follows Edson’s previous two record-shattering months of April and May 2004, with 20 and 21-percent increases over previous years’ sales, respectively.

For the first half of 2004, Edson’s sales are up almost 15 percent over the same period last year – launched by a then record January, which saw a 16-percent sales gain over 2003, Edson said.

All sectors of Edson’s business have contributed to the growth. OEM, Recreational Marine, Pump-Out, Industrial and Military divisions have all shown positive growth figures, as demand for products within each of these business areas has reached all time highs, the company said.

“The Edson Team really has to be commended for all their efforts this year,” said Will Keene, Edson’s president. “Our employees have really gone the extra mile to meet customer demand over the last several months. This has been especially important as we assimilate the new Quality Welding, Inc. acquisition into the company.”
