Aluminum boat maker posts sales record

CLARKSTON, Wash. – Aluminum boat manufacturer Renaissance Marine Group, Inc. (RMG), buoyed by a 57-percent increase in March sales, has posted record first quarter sales and a 36-percent increase in revenues compared to 2003, the company reported in a recent statement.

“Retail sales of our two boat brands (Duckworth and Weldcraft) are off to a strong start this spring,” said James E. Moore, RMG president. “Dealer inventories are already diminishing rapidly in preparation for what is expected to be one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest salmon returns since records have been kept.”

Moore said that sales of outboard product had been very strong for RMG, particularly its Duckworth Navigator. He also said that sales in new dealer markets have been stronger than anticipated.

Renaissance supports model year change

Renaissance is also among the boat builders that support moving the model year to later in the year. The company will continue to introduce its new models, programs and pricing on September 1, as that date has proven popular amongst its dealers, according to Moore.

“We would strongly encourage other manufacturers to follow this plan as it will serve them and their dealers well,” Moore said.
