US Marine reports increase in winter boat show sales

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Led by a strong surge in sales of its Maxum line, US Marine said Wednesday that its winter boat show figures are up significantly for 2004.

The company released a report spanning more than 30 boat shows from Dec. 26 to present, including major shows in New York, Seattle and Toronto, saying that US Marine’s success is being led by its Maxum sales, “which saw overall increases of nearly 30 percent over the previous year.

Buyers have responded especially favorably to the all-new ‘3-series’ lineup, according to US Marine. Sales of the “3-series,” which all bear SR3 or SC3 nameplates, were up 160 percent over sales of comparable models at winter boat shows last year, it reported.

“We’re very encouraged by the results of winter boat shows so far,” said Dave Taylor, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We recently announced strong year-over-year increases for the fall boat shows, and we’re pleased to see the momentum carry into the New Year.
