Boater’s World’s same store sales continue to grow

BELTSVILLE, Md. – Boater’s World Marine Centers’ comparable store sales figures increased again during the final month of 2003, the company reported in a recent statement.

Comparable store sales for December 2003 increased 26 percent on a six-week vs. five-week period last year, which the retailer pointed out were comparable periods to those reported by other retailers.

Looking at December 2003 vs. December 2002 for the same 31-day interval, sales still increased 5 percent, according to the company.

The company reported in December that its November same store sales increased 14 percent over the same month of 2002.

David M. Ritz, chairman and CEO of Boater’s World, said customers “shopped at Boater’s World for both gifts and their normal boating uses in December and throughout the entire year of 2003.”

He added that the company expects “customers will be very excited with the new programs and products that we will be introducing throughout 2004.”

Boater’s World Marine Centers, headquartered in Beltsville, Md., is a marine retail chain with over 110 locations and a division of Ritz Camera Centers.
