Throughout his long, award-winning career, actor, producer, writer and director Tom Hanks has had an interesting relationship with the water.
He guest starred in the old TV series The Love Boat back in 1980, and followed that up with big-screen roles that also sometimes involved boats in Splash, Sleepless in Seattle, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, and Captain Phillips. The water also figured into the real-life story of Sully, but that was inadvertent. US Airways Flight 1549 was supposed to end in Charlotte, not the Hudson River.
Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have also been spotted yachting in the Mediterranean around Greece and Italy.
So it wasn't entirely surprising that Hanks spent his 63rd birthday aboard a boat. It was a little surprising however to see the video he posted on Twitter of him jumping off the boat.
You can hear him yell, "ok go!" before seeing him fall through the camera frame, arms crossed, wearing board shorts, a shirt, a golf hat and shades.
His Twitter post, which has over three million views, reads "Look at the cool beach clothes I got for my 63rd Birthday! Hanx!"
Happy belated birthday Tom. Glad you spent at least part of it on a boat.
