Diplomatic relations with Cuba move forward

In the wee hours of Monday morning, the United States and Cuba restored full diplomatic relations for the first time in 54 years. Both countries will officially inaugurate full embassy status in separate events.

However, the trade embargo and travel restrictions still remain between the two countries and must clear Congress before they can be lifted, which means that these changes are ultimately symbolic in nature rather than actionable.

Symbolic as they may be, it may be a symbol that industries need to begin setting their eyes toward Cuba, or at least preparing for the possibility of the trade embargo being lifted. It certainly would be useful for our industry to keep in consideration, especially as other industries are aggressively moving to position themselves between the two nations.
