“The Long Tail”

As more and more marine companies evolve their businesses into the Internet, one book that helps illustrate the opportunities available is “The Long Tail.” Author Chris Anderson, who’s also editor-in-chief of Wired magazine, does an excellent job demonstrating how the Internet is redefining industries. And while most of his examples revolve around digital mediums, such as music found on iTunes and Rhapsody, this book has the potential to spark ideas for the boating industry in rethinking its approach to how marine products are sold and offered online.
