1. Obama budget includes more than $300 million for Great Lakes

The budget proposed by the White House includes $300 million for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, a program designed to combat invasive species and preserve the lakes.

The budget also calls for $63 million for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to spend on Great Lakes projects.
