1. MIASF CEO stepping down in 2018

Phil Purcell, CEO and executive director of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, will leave the organization in January 2018, South Florida Business Journal reported.

He joined the group in 2014 and oversaw the recent execution of a 30-year agreement to produce the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, among other accomplishments.

“We are truly fortunate to have had Phil’s leadership for the past few years. His vision and guidance have ideally positioned the association to leverage exciting opportunities in 2017 and beyond,” Danielle Butler, chairperson of the MIASF board of directors, told the paper.

2. Nautical Ventures signs with Ranger Tugs

Top 100 dealer Nautical Ventures has added Ranger Tugs to its offerings, with plans to have its first boats ahead of the Miami International Boat Show, the Sun Sentinel reported.

The new Ranger deal was a direct result of Nautical Ventures’ recognition as a Top 100 dealer by Boating Industry, the dealership told the paper.

3. Power Products, LLC acquires Lenco Marine

Wisconsin-based Power Products, LLC has acquired Lenco Marine, a Florida-based manufacturer of trim tabs, actuators, hatch lifts and other accessories.

“Lenco Marine is a recognized leader in innovation, product quality, and customer service in the marine industry since its founding in 1986”, David Scheer, CEO-Power Products, LLC, said in a statement. “The acquisition of Lenco Marine greatly strengthens our Marine Division.”

Lenco Marine will continue to operate in Stuart, Fla., under the current leadership team, the company said.

5. Ferretti reports 2016 growth

The Ferretti Group increased production in 2016, building 148 yachts under the group’s seven brands this year. That’s up 25 percent from the previous record of 117 built in 2015, the company said.
