1. BRP sets first shareholder meeting

BRP Inc. will hold its first annual shareholder meeting for the newly public company June 12 in Valcourt, Quebec.

The tour will include tours of the design and innovation center and factory.

2. Small business optimism at post-recession high

Small business owners are more optimistic than they’ve been since 2007, according to the latest index from the National Federation of Independent Businesses.

The index hit 95.2 in April, but is still 5 points below the 1973 to 2008 average.

3. Healthcare reform webinars

The Small Business Administration is hosting a series of webinars to help small businesses understand the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. There are also a number of resources available on the SBA website.

 4. Why the housing crash hurt more then the tech crash

As we all know, the housing crash dealt a severe blow to the boating industry (and the economy as a whole). An interesting read here on why, despite eliminating less wealth, the housing crash caused much more damage to the economy than the dot-com bubble burst of 2000.
