Miami: New products highlight Day 1

MIAMI – Boat builders and other manufacturers introduced a wave of new products Thursday as the Miami International Boat Show kicked off.

Some highlights from Day 1 of the industry’s biggest show:

Chris-Craft Launch 36

Chris-Craft introduced the Launch 36, a large day boat with overnight facilities. The new model is designed with a full walk around deck to access the forward seating and a full sized bow sun bed. Below deck, there are berths for five people, a full sized head and a separate shower. The new model is equipped with built-in storage for a variety of sports equipment such as snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, fishing, bicycling, wakeboarding, and tubing.

“This is the boat I have always wanted to build for my family. People have lost sight of what it means to play on the water and this boat is really a toy boat for all,” said Stephen Julius, chairman of Chris-Craft Corporation.

Scout/Garmin/Mastervolt partnership

Scout Boats, Garmin and Mastervolt announced a new partnership to equip new Scout Boats with a fully integrated vessel solution that is powered by Mastervolt’s CZone intelligent technology. The boat’s circuits and systems can be monitored and controlled across Garmin’s GPSMAP Glass Helm Series.

The center console Scout 350 LXF will be the first boat to feature the technology.

“When we were deciding which model to introduce and integrate this new technology, the 350 LXF just made sense,” said Scout Boats CEO and founder Steve Potts. “We, as consumers, use this technology in our everyday lives whether it is operating our cars or our homes, so now we’ve brought this technology to the marine industry.”

Regulator 23

Regulator Marine rolled out its new 23-footer, designed with a flush liner for enhanced fishability and a number of storage options, including two 160-quart forward seat fish/dry box, 350-quart fishbox/locking rod storage, a 23-gallon transom livewell and 120-quart transom fishbox. The 23 is powered by a Yamaha F300.
