Attwood Corporation gets California carbon canister certification

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has granted Attwood Corporation a component executive order (RM-18-004) for its trailerable carbon canisters used in its Integrated Carbon Canister Fuel Systems.

The executive order indicates that boats equipped with Attwood’s 99CC035/045/085 Series carbon canisters are approved and CARB compliant for the 2019 model year. ”Trailerable” refers to any craft that is less than or equal to 26 feet in length and less than or equal to 8 1/2 feet in width.

These carbon canisters also meet the requirements and are certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

CARB’s rating is slightly different than the current EPA rating.

Attwood’s Carbon Canister design has been validated through CARB’s extensive durability procedures and features the same proven construction since its first release in the summer of 2011.

Attwood is currently in the process of further acquiring certification for its Non-Trailerable Carbon Canister. The company currently has 400,000 Attwood Carbon Canister Systems on the water.
