NMMA reports new powerboat registrations up 4.4 percent

NMMA’s New Powerboat Registrations Report has been updated through September 2017, and advance data show new powerboat registrations were up 4.4 percent year-over-year for the rolling twelve-month period through September.

Nearly all segments were up through September on a rolling 12-month, year-over-year basis. Growth in registrations was led by the following segments: Cruisers (up 9.1 percent), tow boats (up 7.7 percent), pontoons (up 7.1 percent), and personal watercraft (up 6.4 percent).

Outboards boats, which represent 65 percent of total new powerboat sales, were up 4.2 percent in registrations.

Larger boats 27 feet and greater, were up 7.8 percent through September on a rolling 12-month, year-over-year basis.
