NMMA’s New Powerboat Registrations Report has been updated through August 2017, and advance data show new powerboat registrations were up 5.3 percent year-over-year for the rolling 12-month period through August.
Highlights from the report include:
- Nearly all segments were up through August (R12M YOY). Growth in registrations was led by the following segments: tow boats (up 8.3 percent), cruisers (up 7.9 percent), pontoons (up 7.5 percent) and personal watercraft (up 7.3 percent).
- Outboards boats, which represent 65 percent of total new powerboat sales, were up 5.2 percent in registrations.
- Larger boats 27-feet and greater were up 8.8 percent through August (R12M YOY).
