Expert panel on boat clubs to address marina revenue-generating opportunities at IMBC

A special panel representing marina owners/operators has been assembled to specifically address the revenue-generating opportunities and key considerations associated with boat clubs during the International Marina and Boatyard Conference in Ft. Lauderdale later this month.

Five industry panelists are slated to share their firsthand experiences and best practices during this session including Sam Chavers of Suntex and director of marina operations, Marina Jack; Sam Lowrey, director of real estate, MarineMax; Jeremy Holcomb, VP of marina operations, Legendary Marina; Travis Staat, real estate manager of Camachee Cove Marina; and John Giglio, president/CEO of Freedom Boat Club. Veteran industry marketer Wanda Kenton Smith will moderate the session.

“Each panelist will share his organization’s boat club history, followed by a moderated session addressing the most common questions marina operators have about boat clubs,” said Kenton Smith. “We will conclude with an open mic Q & A session from the audience.

“Our goal is to help educate marina operators about how boat clubs operate and what the most important considerations are including dock logistics, along with sharing proven revenue streams that clubs can generate for a marina,” she added. “We are very fortunate to have organized such a stellar panel of marina experts in this niche and believe their collective experience, insight and feedback will be especially valuable to marina owners contemplating the boat club model and its potential impact on their business.”

The “Boosting Marina Revenues with Boat Clubs” session is slated for Friday, Jan. 27 from 2:15 – 3:15 p.m. For information about IMBC, visit www.marinaassociation.org/imbc/home.
