GOST promotes Brian Kane to chief technology officer

Global Ocean Security Technologies announced Thursday the promotion of Brian Kane to chief technology officer.

“Brian was one of the founders of GOST over 12 years ago and is the backbone of our organization,” said Jay Keenan, president and CEO, GOST. “He has been involved in every aspect of our product lines including developing our ‘to market’ strategy, overseeing the development of our award winning apps, writing our manuals, training thousands of installers, and has also been intimately involved with overseeing GOST’s social media. We know that this appointment is long overdue and will help our brand continue to flourish.”

A founding partner and GOST Board of Directors member, Kane has taken on the position of chief technology officer. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company. Using an active and practical approach, Kane oversees the development and implementation of the company’s strategies for new security technologies for the global maritime marketplace. Kane was recently appointed to the board of directors of the National Marine Electronics Association.

“I have truly enjoyed the challenges that building a successful product line like GOST’s has provided over the years,” said Kane. “We have an amazing, growing team at GOST and I look forward to the work ahead. There are exciting opportunities to revolutionize maritime security and I am confident we are up to the task.” In reference to his election to the NMEA Board of Directors, Kane noted, “The NMEA is the most important association in the marine electronics industry. I am honored to support their goals of providing best installation practices and promoting the high installation and communication standards established for modern marine electronics.”
