Recreation leaders address NASPD Conference

A trio of recreation community leaders – ARC President Derrick Crandall, NMMA VP for State Government Relations David Dickerson and RVDA President Phil Ingrassia – addressed the National Association of State Park Directors 2016 Conference in French Lick, Ind. last week.

The presentation focused on the impact of awareness efforts such as Great Outdoors Month, National Fishing & Boating Week, National Marina Day and many more, as well as action items for the association. The full presentation can be viewed here.

State parks are currently reporting that both visitation and revenues are up, particularly Virginia; the state’s parks welcomed almost one million more visitors than the previous year, through July 31.
