Safe Harbor Marinas acquires Grand Isle Marina

Safe Harbor Marinas has acquired Grand Isle Marina in Grand Haven, Mich., about a three-hour drive from both Chicago and Detroit. Located along 21 miles of inland waterway and just minutes from Lake Michigan, Grand Isle Marina features 400 permanent boat slips and about 150 dry racks.

Safe Harbor Marinas is seeking to strategically expand and diversify its inland and coastal marina portfolio. One of the key reasons the company acquired Grand Isle Marina is its proximity to another marina owned by Safe Harbor along the same waterway. The company projects that this common ownership will help develop transient boating opportunities in the region. Grand Isle Marina is the company’s second property in Michigan and its fourth in the Great Lakes region.

“We are thrilled to welcome Grand Isle Marina into our growing portfolio. The property has developed the reputation of being the ‘Boaters Utopia of the Midwest,’ and, as such, is the perfect fit to join our collection of high-quality marinas,” said Jason Hogg, vice president of investments for Safe Harbor Marinas. “We know many boaters have a sense of adventure and would like the opportunity to explore more waterways or take longer boating trips. Bringing Grand Isle Marina into the Safe Harbor family creates more of those opportunities in the Great Lakes region, and we plan to further expand our presence in the area.”

Safe Harbor Marinas is the nation’s largest owner and operator of marinas with 36 properties in 14 states. For more information about Safe Harbor, visit SHMarinas.com. For more information about Grand Isle Marina, please visit grandislemarina.com.
