Industry mourns Lewis Welsh

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The first employee of Prospec Electronics, Lewis Welsh of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, died November 17, 2015. He was 56.

At Prospec, Welsh began by running the warehouse and shipping, and overseeing quality control. He then proved himself as an account manager and later became national sales representative, a position he excelled in.

Welsh is remembered for the relationships he built and fostered. He was renowned for listening to customers’ needs and helping develop solutions through new product offerings. He was also a caring and valued friend to Prospec employees, and often brought back gifts from his travels.

“Lewis was universally loved by his colleagues and customers as a big-hearted individual, always considerate and thoughtful,” said Dave Sykes, Prospec Electronics president. “He was the most loyal and honest person I know, and had an excellent work ethic.”

Welsh is survived by his four sisters and countless friends. He was laid to rest in his home state of Ohio.
