Same-store dealer sales creep up in November

Boat dealer sales continued to grow in November, but at a slower pace than the last couple of months.

Same-store sales were up 1.7 percent from November 2014, according to the latest report from CDK Global Recreation, which is based on data from users of the company’s Lightspeed software. That’s below the 7.3 percent increase in October and 5.6 percent for September.

It was the 10th month in a row of same-store sales growth.

Service department revenue growth led the way for the month, with 8 percent growth in that category over November 2014.

Unit sales were down 2.4 percent from 2014, only the second monthly drop in the last 10 months. Parts and accessories sales continued to struggle in November as well, with P&A revenue down 9.2 percent. It was the fifth straight month of parts and accessories sales declines.
