Regal Marine joins Water Sports Industry Association

Orlando – Regal Marine Industries announced it has become one of the first sterndrive manufacturers to announce its membership in the Water Sports Industry Association (WSIA) and exhibitor status with Surf Expo.

Surf Expo is taking place September 10-12 in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center.

This commitment is designed to utilize Regal’s reach in the boating market and dealer network to help facilitate growth for wakesurfing while partnering with visionaries within the industry.

“There are some great people involved in the WSIA and Surf Expo, and we will do everything we can to help nurture wake sports and help spread awareness with our dealers and customers,” said Paul Kuck, Regal’s sport boat product manager.

Regal was an early strategy partner with Volvo Penta during the Forward Drive project and debuted the 2100 SURF Edition at the Miami Boat Show last February. Regal believes this forwardfacing drive has revolutionized towed water sports in the recreational segment. The company remains committed to progression and innovation for the world to enjoy and will continue to work closely with Volvo Penta as the Forward Drive is introduced globally.

“Our FasTrac hull provides exceptional handling and performance, and Volvo’s Forward Drive adds another dimension of versatility and functionality. The Regal Surf boat really is the ultimate water sports platform for active boating families,” said Don Smith, vice president of U.S. sales.

In addition to Volvo’s Forward Drive with its counter rotating Duoprop system, Regal’s Surf Edition includes 1,000 pounds of ballast in three locations as well as Surf Tabs, controlled by the RegalVue touch screen control panel. RegalVue allows the operator to manage the boat’s operations, including speed control with an intuitive interface.
